Congratulations to Eleanna
Antoniou, Mimi Russo and Rae Wohl who were awarded the Agnes Penner Prize!
The prize is awarded to the Applied
Psychological Science project with the greatest potential to benefit society, as
judged by a panel of community members.
For the winning project, Best Practices Application for Improving
Patient Outcomes for Project Access Lancaster County, Eleanna, Mimi and Rae
partnered with Project Access Lancaster County (www.palcolancaster.org) a
non-profit organization that coordinates donated health care services for
uninsured Lancaster residents. They created patient journals to help patients
become more actively involved in their own health care, as well as designed an
updated survey and compiled a best-practices manual for tracking and evaluating
patient health outcomes. The goals of their project are to improve patients’
health outcomes, patient satisfaction and comfort with medical care, and to
reduce unnecessary ER visits.
